Difference between binary fission and budding

1. In the binary fission, the parent body divides into two equal and similar halves and each half forms a new individual. In the budding, the parent produces a
small bud that grows in size and then separates from the parent body.

2. A protuberance bud is formed in the binary fission. A protuberance is not formed in the budding.

3. In the binary fission, the division is equal whereas in the budding division is unequal.

4. Parent’s body disappears in the binary fission. Parent’s body remains intact in the budding.

5. Examples of binary fission: Bacteria, Amoeba, Euglena, Paramecium, Planaria. Examples of budding: Yeast, Sycon Hydra.
