Difference between Contact and Non Contact Force

1. The forces which act on the bodies when they are in physical contact are called contact forces. The forces experienced by bodies even without being physically touched are called non contact forces or forces at a distance.

2. Types of Contact Forces: Frictional force, Normal reaction force, Tensile force as applied through strings, force exerted by a spring, force exerted during collision. Types of non contact forces: magnetic force, electrostatic force, gravitational force.
