Differences between Glycolysis and Krebs cycle

Differences between Glycolysis and Krebs cycle

Differentiate, distinguish, compare and explain what is the main differences between Glycolysis and Krebs cycle. Comparison and Difference.

Differences between Glycolysis and Krebs cycle

1. Glycolysis is a linear pathway. Krebs cycle is a cyclic pathway.

2. Glycolysis occurs in the cell cytoplasm. Krebs cycle occurs in the mitochondria! matrix.

3. Glycolysis occurs in both aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Krebs cycle occurs in aerobic respiration.

4. Glycolysis generates 2 NADH2 and 2 ATP molecules on the breakdown of one glucose molecule. Krebs cycle produces 6 NADH2, 2FADH2, and 2 ATP molecules on the breakdown of two acetyl-CoA molecules.
