Difference between orbit and revolution

1. Orbit generally refers to the motion of an object that undergoes uniform acceleration due to gravity from another object, causing it to travel in a repeating circular path around the object. Revolution generally refers to one cycle of an orbit.

2. Examples:
Orbit Example: The Moon orbits the Earth.

Revolution Example: When the moon goes around the Earth one time, it has completed one revolution and it goes so on.
