Difference between Racemose and Cymose Inflorescence

1. In Racemose inflorescence, the main axis continues to grow. In Cymose inflorescence, the main axis terminates in a flower.

2. Growth is unlimited in racemose inflorescence. Growth is limited in cymose.

3. The flowers are borne in an acropetal succession in racemose. Flowers are borne in a basipetal succession in cymose inflorescence.

4. In Racemose inflorescence, the grouping of flowers is less common and arrangement of flowers in a group is centripetal. In Cymose inflorescence, the grouping of flower is more common and arrangement of flowers in a group is centrifugal.
