Difference between Simple leaf and Compound leaf

1. The Simple leaf consists of a single lamina. The Compound leaf consists of several leaflets.

2. In simple leaves, the bud is usually present at the leaf axil. In the compound leaves, the bud is not present at the axils of the leaflets.

3. In simple leaf, stipules may be present at the base. In compound leaf, stipules are not present at the base of the leaflets.

4. Examples of the Simple leaf are mango, peepal, guava. Examples of the Compound leaf are neem, rose, tamarind.
